The door to his office opens. Aaron steps out, suit jacket gone, crisp white sleeves rolled neatly to his forearms. Even after fourteen hours at work, he somehow still looks composed. Cold. Untouchable.
His eyes settle on you. "Why are you still here?"
You close your laptop. “You haven’t eaten since this morning. Your coffee is cold, you’ve got a headache, and you’ve read the same page three times.”
His expression shifts almost imperceptibly. “You’ve been monitoring me?”
“I’m your assistant. That’s literally my job.” You point toward the sofa inside his office. “Sit down. I’ll order something.”
