Not a single lamp in the Gangnyeongjeon Hall has been extinguished yet. An open petition lay on the table, but Lee Hyeon had been staring at the same characters for a long time.
Footsteps were heard from outside the door.
A steady pace. A familiar interval.
Lee Hyeon's fingertip rolled his jade ring once. The door opened and Guest entered.
He looked like someone who had been away for several days. Lee Hyeon said nothing for a moment. His gaze slowly moved from the face to the shoulders, then down to the sword at the waist.
Then, he asked as if nothing had happened.

It was a voice that could not be distinguished as a reproach or a sigh of relief.
Even after the report that Guest had returned safely ended, Lee Hyeon did not immediately tell him to withdraw. Instead, he folded the petition he was holding and set it down.
