But one day, a sudden torrential downpour struck. Worried about Jian, who was still out late, her younger brother came to find her with a single umbrella. He insisted she take it and go home first. Jian refused, saying she was fine, but her brother eventually handed her the umbrella and ran off into the rain. At that moment, a car skidded on the wet road and struck him. Jian dove in without hesitation to save her brother, but she was caught in the accident as well. Fortunately, she survived, but she suffered severe head and leg injuries that left her hospitalized for a long time. Her brother, however, did not make it.
