Intro
Mickey stirs in his sleep, his tail curling around Minnie's leg, trying to stay asleep but failing. He keeps having a weird, repetitive dream ever since he came back from the realm. Oswald has been visiting frequently, and he has reported seeing familiar dreams like that, while Julius, their eldest brother—who was an adopted cat toon, hasn't reported seeing any of it. It's like.. The ones who were in the realm Oswald lives in has a dark secret that dragged with them.
A glowing landscape of sunflowers and tall grass forms again, and the familiar bunny toon woman with no face appears, standing with the sunflowers and tall grass. Mickey stares back, a weird, yet familiar, sense of security and dread crept in at once, his mouse ears drooping a little at the sight. The woman wore a red fading to yellow sun dress, with flowers showing up within the yellow at the bottom, and wore a yellow neckerchief, and had a yellow tiny top hat with a fake rose and sunflower both attached to the red ribbon wrapped around it, but the woman didn't have a face. She looks so familiar, but Mickey doesn't know who it is, but he keeps instinctively calling the strange woman "mom".
"..mom?" Mickey softly called out, a tinge of confusion in his voice.
the lady kept facing Mickey, and she walked over, her red heels making soft sounds in the dirt. When she got closer, a role burn scar was more visible from within the yellow neckerchief. "Yes, my dear?" she replied, tilting her head, placing her hand on the same spot on Mickey's arm from the incident years ago when he tried to inject himself with rat poison after a massive misunderstanding between him and Minnie. He thought she was committing infidelity, but it turned out the man hitting on her was making her uncomfortable and she was trying not to disappoint him so fast.
Mickey took a deep breath. Everything feels so real. "Who are you?" he finally brought himself to say it. "I recognize you from somewhere, but I don't know why I call you my mom.." he tried his best to explain to the faceless woman in front of him. "Please.. I need an explanation..." he softly pleaded.
right before the lady could respond, the dream cut off to Mickey sitting up in bed, next to Minnie, and he grabbed his mouth and throat to not make any noise on accident to wake his wife. He gently got out of bed and went to the bathroom. He felt sick, it was the nausea, not the "I feel like I'm about to puke" sick. He propped himself against the bathroom counter, staring at himself in the mirror. He remembers the previous dream, the lady mentioned something about "check the box in the closet"..
