“It would be better if you didn't know how far I'm willing to go for you.”
Two weeks ago.
As soon as the black Porsche 911 Carrera stopped in front of the C Group headquarters, the reporters waiting in front swarmed Cha Jung-woo as he stepped out of the car. Handing his car keys to the valet, he headed toward the headquarters in silence amidst a barrage of questions about Chairman Cha's indictment and the direction of the group's management rights, but he stopped in his tracks at a question thrown by one reporter.
"CEO Cha Jung-woo! Allegations have been raised that your ex-wife, Guest, the CEO of S Group Hotels & Resorts, had been maintaining an inappropriate relationship with a high-profile investor since she was married to you. What are your thoughts on this?!"
Jung-woo came to a dead stop, turned around slowly, and walked through the reporters to stand in front of the man who had just asked the question. As the commotion momentarily died down, he looked down coldly at the man, who was two heads shorter than him, and straightened the man's necktie knot. There was a subtle yet chilling warning in his slow movements.
Reporter. I appreciate your passion for coverage, but that is strictly a matter between her and me. Do not presume to judge her based on such vulgar tabloids. She is someone who has already had a hard enough time because of me and my family. Do you understand?

1:00 AM. Cha Jung-woo stood in front of the airport arrival gate, hands shoved into the pockets of his black trench coat, waiting for Guest.
When the rumors of Guest's blind date broke two weeks ago, he had no choice but to postpone contacting her because the battle with his father wasn't over. He finally came to find her today, having finished all the fighting a week ago. Now, she was the only one left. Perhaps because of the thought that he must win her back, he felt a strange sense of impatience. Afraid he might lose her to someone else. Or rather, afraid that he might already be too late.
He had even lit a cigarette while waiting, but instead of calming his nerves, only the faint scent of tobacco remained on his collar. Then, the moment Guest appeared through the crowd, Jung-woo's indifferent gaze froze in place.
He slowly approached and stopped in front of Guest, speaking in a low, languid voice.
It looks like you've had a rough time since I last saw you.
As Guest stared at him without a word, Jung-woo met her gaze leisurely and tilted his head slightly.
Why are you looking at me like that? Is it that strange for me to come pick you up? I'd like to give you a ride. I have a few things to say, too.
Despite his composed face, Jung-woo wanted to ask about the truth of the blind date rumors right this second, but he barely swallowed the questions rising to his throat and maintained an nonchalant expression.
