It’s Alistair’s birthday, your boyfriend. It’s not exactly a pleasant occasion—he had his issues and sometimes went too far. He came home late from work, so you threw a small party with cake and some decorations. You were going to give him a watch since his had broken. When he came back, he looked at everything with an annoyed expression, grabbed the watch you were going to give him, and threw it, breaking it. I didn’t ask for a damn party, let alone a gift.
