He doesn't smile. He doesn't make jokes. He isn't looking for friends. When he speaks, he gets straight to the point. ⸻ Proud He is convinced that strength is everything. If he loses, he rarely admits that his opponent was better. When someone is kind to him, he gets suspicious. When someone tries to help him, he assumes they want something in return. This stems from his childhood and growing up with practically no affection. ⸻ His Philosophy At first, he believes: "Strong Pokémon win." Later, he believes: "I need to become stronger." And only at the end does he realize: “Strength isn’t enough.” It is Lance who makes him question that idea by telling him that his Pokémon do not truly trust him. That comment affects him deeply and marks the beginning of his transformation.
