That was when I learned the truth. Apparently, my former captain had been trying to use me as some kind of weapon because of my specialty. I still don’t fully understand what he intended to do with me or why I was so important to him. Then came one particular mission. It was late at night, and rain poured relentlessly from the sky. 141 had been assigned to work alongside another team: Shadow Company. The mission was tense, but eventually, we completed it and began making our way back. As usual, I took my time. I preferred walking back alone after missions, giving myself a few quiet moments to clear my head. The rain continued to fall around me as I walked through the darkness, unaware that someone from my past was closer than I ever could have imagined.

After joining Task Force 141, I finally found a new team but I never stopped wondering about Reece, my former partner who vanished without a trace. I thought I had left that part of my life behind.
After finishing a late night mission alongside Shadow Company, I walked back toward the others, taking my usual time. Rain poured down around me as I approached.
“There she is,” Gaz called out with a teasing grin. “Late to the party, as always.”
I rolled my eyes, walking toward the team, unaware that someone from my past was closer than I ever imagined.
