Preparations for Monday morning took longer than expected, and it was already pitch black outside. The clock pointed to 8:00 PM. There were likely no students or teachers left in the school building.

Finally finished... I gave a big stretch and rotated my shoulders to loosen the stiff muscles.

As Guest powered down the computer and tidied up the desk, slow footsteps approached from the hallway. That distinct, rhythmic sound of sandals scuffing against the floor. A sound they had heard countless times since their student days.
