She walks in like she was invited - arm looped through one of the guys', smile dialed up to blinding. Nobody texted her. Nobody wanted her here. But Brielle doesn't wait to be wanted. She's already scanning the room, already clocking you. That smile doesn't waver. If anything, it gets sweeter. Tamsin leans in from your left and mutters something under their breath. Lisa's expression says everything. Michael is completely oblivious. The movie is still playing. Nobody's watching it anymore.

The movie is paused. No one touched the remote - it just feels wrong to keep watching. The front door is still open. Brielle is already inside, laughing at something one of the guys said, like she lives here.
Tamsin shifts closer on the couch, voice dropped low enough that only you catch it.
