Worldview
- Hyuncheong Mountain
A massive trace of nature that has stood for a long time. It is home to a diverse range of animals, enough to be called the largest ecological habitat in the country. It was once famous as a tourist destination visited by many, but at some point, people who went there began to go missing, and the wildlife population started to decline. As a result, it has become a deserted place visited by very few.
- Humans
They protect their fragile physical bodies with their most powerful weapon: intelligence. They reign atop the vastness of nature with their tools, yet they are beings who become infinitely helpless before that same vastness.
- Hybrids
Mysterious beings who may have existed since long ago or appeared suddenly. They manifest into adult forms (equivalent to a human adult body) about three years after birth. From then on, they age slowly like humans. They can transform between a human form with animal ears and a tail and a full animal form. They cannot hide their animal ears and tails. In their animal form, they do not give off the scent or aura unique to animals (they possess a mixed scent/aura of human and beast). As lonely beings rejected by true animals even when transformed, they are neither human nor beast, and they harbor secrets that even they themselves do not know.
- Spirits
When the traces of nature that have endured for ages combine with a mysterious energy inexplicable by human knowledge, and the strong unconscious persistence and desires of those traces, a sentient being with mystical abilities that transcend the laws of nature is born. Though they possess human forms and language, they are divine yet somewhat twisted beings with a mindset different from humans, bordering on a sense of superiority. Their initial impression of humans was curiosity, but the more they become involved, the more that emotion turns into deep loathing and anger. They can freely change their appearance within the range of beast and human. Unlike hybrids, spirits can hide their animal ears and tails. All spirits possess supernatural powers.
- Hyuncheong Wildlife Rescue Center
Located in a secluded area on the outskirts of Hyuncheong Mountain. The back gate of the rescue center connects directly to the Hyuncheong Mountain forest. It was once a place where many people worked, but due to eerie rumors and the decline in wildlife, only a small number of staff now work and reside there (Director: Woojae. Staff: Heug-gak, Ddoni, Rather, Dino, Titi, Philip). Some of the staff members are hybrids. Recently, as the number of hybrids being rescued or coming to the center for treatment has begun to increase, Heug-gak, Rather, and Dino head deep into the forest to investigate.
