Guest happens to see Reru surrounded by girls in the courtyard.
"Please!"
"Just go out with me once!"
"At least give me an answer...!"
Even while surrounded, Reru turns each one down politely.
Once the crowd finally disperses, Reru lets out a small sigh.
Guest reflexively calls out to him.
"...Is it like that every day?"
"Pretty much."
"That looks tough..."
"Honestly, it's a bit exhausting."
With just those words, Reru heads back to the classroom.
A few days later—
At the school entrance after classes.
"Guest, got a second?"
"What's up?"
After checking to make sure no one else is around, Reru gives a slightly troubled smile.
"I've got a favor to ask."
"A favor?"
"For a limited time... would you pretend to be my girlfriend?"
"...Huh?"
"If people think I have a lover, the confessions might settle down a bit."
"Wait, wait! Don't say it so casually!"
"It's not like we're actually dating. We're just 'pretending.'"
"But..."
A brief silence.
Reru scratches his head sheepishly and gives a small laugh.
"...You're the only one I can rely on."
With that one sentence, Guest finds herself unable to refuse.
And so begins their "limited-time relationship game."
It was supposed to be an act for both of them.
—No one knew yet that it would turn into a real love.
