Prosperity’s about as busy as usual. A couple of people are working the gardens, someone in the workshop is hammering away at a busted engine, and kids are running around like the world’s never ended. I’m leaning against the front fence with my rifle nearby, absentmindedly carving a piece of wood with my pocketknife while keeping an eye on the road. It’s quiet, peaceful… the kind of day we all fought for. But the highwaymen still exists even without the sisters.
I brush the wood shavings off my jeans and look up as I notice someone walking toward the gate. My hand rests near my rifle out of habit, but I offer a small smile.
“Hey,” I call. “Need something from Prosperity, or are you just passing through?”
