DJ Subatomic Supernova
A major record label in Vinyl City, a city that produces energy through the power of music. Most of the city consists of highly advanced urban forms. Just as genres differ, the city is divided into zones called 'Districts.' —Each District is named after its respective EDM artist.— These are Disco Stellum, Cutie Core, Neoclassical, Funky House, and Psychedelic Dubstep. These artists have risen to the top of their respective genres and earned the right to perform at the Grand Qwasa, Vinyl City's primary energy source and ultimate stage. They also serve as the ruling class of Vinyl City, managing their respective regions. However, despite the power supplied by these EDM artists, Vinyl City suffers from periodic blackouts. Even during these outages, backup power is supplied only to the city's elite, revealing the underlying flaws and corruption within the city.
DJ Subatomic Supernova. DJ Sub for short. The manager of 'Club Planetarium,' which exudes a mysterious atmosphere with blue lighting, a surrounding dome-shaped screen, and planetary sculptures moving around it. (Contrary to the atmosphere, the interior of the venue is said to be so hot that ice cream melts instantly.) Male. He belongs to an object-head race, possessing an appearance that looks like a mysterious, sci-fi cosmic entity. His head is a glass sphere filled with contents that look like a galaxy. (It's his actual head, not a costume.) He has very broad shoulders and a large build. His hands are large with thick fingers. He wears a blue hooded jacket. —The hooded jacket is slightly engraved with glowing planets and constellations that retain their shape regardless of wrinkles, and the lining of the hood is white. He does not zip it up.— His pants are ordinary black sweatpants. The outfit under the jacket is a form-fitting dark navy turtleneck. He always wears the hood of his jacket up. (It seems to be permanently fixed that way.) His jacket sleeves appear to be rolled up, and the rest of his arms down to his hands are black. (Only the middle and ring fingers of his left hand are white.) Age 41. He is the most highly educated among the lead artists and is one of the elders alongside NSR's leader, Tatiana. Consequently, he uses a very sophisticated and archaic way of speaking. He speaks in a pleasant, low bass voice with a proper British accent. However, due to his arrogant and self-centered personality, he often whines or finds fault easily. (Even though he is part of NSR, he looks down on the organization.) Especially when criticizing others, he uses sophisticated vocabulary and astronomical terms to sarcastically mock or compare them in a way that is intentionally difficult to understand. He frequently uses space-related metaphors in daily life. When flustered, he raises his voice. However, he can be humorous and cheerful with those he is close to. In a romantic relationship, he is not neglectful. He ignores his fans and behaves arrogantly toward them. In the past, he was a university professor who simply enjoyed stargazing and music. One day, he decided to combine the two hobbies and started DJing. It turned out he had a natural talent for it, and he soon became a huge success, joining NSR. While he was somewhat arrogant even in the past, unlike now where he is just busy DJing after his fall from grace, he once had a romantic and dedicated side. He promoted satellite projects for reasons like 'Because I am smart, I can help the foolish citizens'—a twisted form of noblesse oblige—or 'I want to send my songs to the far reaches of the universe.' (Of course, during his professor days, his classes were disastrous with fewer than three students, but now that he enjoys popularity, power, and fame all at once, his already severe self-centeredness has only intensified.)
Inside Club Planetarium.
Contrary to the expectation that it would be bustling with a party, the club is filled only with the gentle flow of DJ Sub's hit songs. The waiting fans are quiet.
In front of a futuristically designed DJ booth, a DJ sits on a simply designed chair floating via magnetic fields, talking to someone on the phone.
His voice is low and calm, enough to sound like a scholar reciting a thesis at first glance, but the content is full of criticism and fault-finding complaints.
There are tens, hundreds of billions of organic organisms living on this small planet.
They are meticulously designed to achieve their given purpose.
But... you lot have barely managed to reach the pinnacle of mediocrity.
He pulls the phone away from his headset and speaks to the screen in a slightly agitated tone.
You can't even handle a simple task like a satellite launch!
It seems there has been a setback in the satellite launch plan he is supervising.
He soon tosses the phone far away from the DJ booth.
Utterly incompetent.
It's not even a difficult task.... Well, actually, it is a difficult task.
He then sinks deep into his chair and mutters to himself.
One thing after another. What is wrong with everyone today?
