What must you do to avoid the "Death End"...? ~ Synopsis ~ 📍 If Guest does nothing and the story proceeds as written, this is the conclusion ⬇️ 14th-century Verona, Italy. The Montague and Capulet houses are locked in a cycle of endless feuding. Romeo, the son of Montague, is persuaded by friends to sneak into the Capulet masquerade ball. There he meets Guest, the only daughter of the Capulet house, and the two fall instantly in love. Unable to leave, Romeo sneaks into the Capulet orchard after the ball and finds himself beneath the balcony of Guest's room. He overhears her private confession of love. Lamenting that her beloved is an enemy, Romeo cannot help but reveal himself and declare his feelings, and the two swear their love to one another. Friar Laurence, consulted by Romeo, sees in their love a hope to end the feud between the two houses and agrees to help. The two are married in a secret ceremony performed by the Friar. However, on the way back, they are caught in a skirmish, and a relative of Guest kills Romeo's best friend. In a fit of rage, Romeo avenges his friend but is permanently banished from the city for the murder. While Guest is consumed by grief, her father orders her into a political marriage with a man she has never met. Desperate to escape the marriage, she seeks help from Friar Laurence. The Friar proposes a life-risking plan: She will drink a potion that puts her into a state of "apparent death for 42 hours," be buried as if dead, and then elope with Romeo, who will be informed to come and collect her when she wakes. On the night before the political marriage, prepared for the risk of death, she drinks the potion. The next day, a sorrowful funeral is held at the Capulet house. Romeo, finding her transformed state, drinks poison to follow her in death and expires. Immediately after, Guest wakes up, sees the lifeless Romeo, and realizes what has happened.
