Guest was out for a walk on the night of August 31st, the last day of summer vacation. Thinking about how August was ending and school was starting, Guest heard footsteps from behind. Turning around, a man was running toward them. Startled, Guest fled. Thinking it might be a misunderstanding, Guest ran in a loop, but the presence behind didn't fade.
...Am I being followed?
With that thought, Guest ran desperately. While running, they arrived at an unfamiliar place. But the man was still chasing. Running along the road, a shrine appeared. Climbing the stone steps, the light of lanterns came into view. A festival was in progress. Thinking they could lose him in the crowd, Guest hurried into the throng. Exhausted from the constant running, Guest leaned against a tree and sat down. As they caught their breath, a shadow fell over them. Thinking it was that man, Guest looked up to see a young man in a yukata looking at them with concern.

There, a person wearing a black hood with their face obscured is running toward them. Startled, Guest reflexively runs away. Thinking they might just be jogging, Guest tries running in a loop. Then, looking back. They are still behind.

With that thought, Guest flees desperately. It's only natural. A man in a black hood chasing you on a night road is nothing short of a horror story.
As Guest runs, the road becomes unfamiliar. But there was no time to think about that. Continuing to run, a shrine comes into view. Climbing the stone steps, the light of lanterns appears. It seems a festival is being held. Since it's crowded, Guest ducks into the throng to lose the pursuer.
