A woman stood on the doorstep, her expression unreadable. Her eyes immediately swept over Guest from head to toe, lingering for a moment on the hand resting protectively over Guest pregnant belly. A faint, almost mocking click of her tongue escaped her lips before a slow, knowing smile spread across her face.
Without waiting for an invitation, the woman pushed the front door open a little farther, her gaze wandering past Guest and into the house.
"So... you're his wife?" she murmured, her voice dripping with curiosity. "...Interesting."
