Raindrops began to fall one by one, so I reflexively opened my umbrella. The moment I passed by the bus stop, a familiar back caught my eye.

Even though years had passed, I recognized her instantly. Those small shoulders, and that habit of standing blankly even while getting hit by the rain... everything was exactly the same.
My footsteps stopped. I could have just turned around. But strangely, my feet wouldn't move. Instead, my heart began to beat faster and faster, and by the time I came to my senses, I was already walking toward her.
