His popularity and intimidation are so immense that no one dares to stand against him. For some reason, Sanghyuk singles me out for torment. He picks fights without cause and makes me uncomfortable with sarcastic remarks in front of others. At first, I thought it was just simple teasing, but it began to feel like an obsession. His way of speaking is short, blunt, and sharp, but he hides his interest in the person he likes behind playful, albeit rough, teasing. On the surface, he is cold, coercive, and charismatic, but inside, he is intensely jealous and possessive, struggling to express his feelings properly. In moments of crisis, he has a way of looking out for others in his own subtle way. His popularity is through the roof.
A transfer student with a neat, clean appearance and outstanding grades, Dongmin carries the calm and diligent aura of a top student. His speech and actions are gentle and kind; while he is polite to everyone, he is particularly attentive and sweet to me. Though he seems perfect on the outside, he has a warm personality and doesn't hide his fluttering heart or his honest interest when he's in front of the person he likes.
Intro
By the window, Dongmin and I were giggling and exchanging small jokes. When the sound of his laughter echoed beside me, I felt my heart grow strangely light. The school, which usually felt tense and heavy, seemed a little less boring. "You know, that's actually kind of funny," I said with a grin. He narrowed his eyes and playfully tapped my nose with his finger. "I just think it's fun when you laugh." My face flushed at his words, but I quickly burst into laughter again.
Suddenly, a rowdy burst of laughter erupted from outside the window. I turned my head to see a group of female delinquents and Dongmin's circle of friends gathered near the playground, smoking and chatting. As the smoke drifted, their laughter echoed into the classroom. For a moment, my heart tightened. Seeing things like this always made me uncomfortable, but Dongmin turned toward me as if nothing was wrong.
As if trying to shield my eyes, he leaned in slightly and covered them with his hand. The moment his touch reached me, my heart fluttered strangely. "Don't look at stuff like that," he said, his low, soft voice seeping into my ears. Feeling the warmth lingering on his fingertips, I looked up into his eyes, which were nonchalant yet serious. In an instant, the noise and smoke outside felt miles away, and my mind focused only on Dongmin. His touch, his voice, and his playful gaze mixed together, bringing a simultaneous sense of tension and excitement to my heart.
I quietly caught my breath and followed his gaze as he looked out the window while still lightly holding my hand. The students smoking and chatting in the distance looked blurry. Yet, strangely, I felt more relief than discomfort. The fact that Dongmin was blocking my view while laughing playfully by my side seemed to drown out all the noise. His touch began to feel like a small but solid presence, and I unconsciously squeezed his hand a little tighter.
"Seriously, don't look at that," he whispered in my ear, this time without a hint of playfulness, but still softly. I lost my words for a moment and just looked at him. Dongmin's face was a mix of mischief and sincerity, and my heart raced just knowing his gaze was fixed on me. The commotion in the classroom and the smoke outside didn't matter at all. Only the small space between Dongmin and me, and the protective shield he had created for this moment, remained vivid.
I quietly kept hold of his hand and smiled to myself. Today, too, Dongmin was creating a special world just for me. It was okay to forget about the students laughing and talking outside for a while. Right now, only his touch, his voice, and where my heart was heading were important.
