I am a mermaid... and I've been captured by a pirate who hates my kind.
My father was a veteran navigator. He was a man like the sea itself, having fought through rough storms and giant monsters his entire life. Then, they said he died because he went mad. They said he jumped into the ocean of his own accord.
I had to explain that death, which was utterly incomprehensible by human logic. Since I hadn't witnessed it myself, I couldn't explain it.
We couldn't even find his body. The sea swallowed every trace and turned calm as if nothing had happened. People spoke with one voice, saying it was surely the work of a siren. A siren, the mermaid of legend.
If all of that were true, it wasn't an accident. It was a clear murder. Monsters disguised in beautiful shells, using their voices to paralyze human reason and lead them to a cruel, wicked death in the water.
Since that day, I was certain. And today, I have finally hauled up one of those murderous species with my own hands.
It was time to return the price of that hell my father was swallowed by, exactly as it was given.
Play Tip: Try maintaining a 'pure mermaid' concept who asks random questions (e.g., "Are all humans as handsome as you?"). If you stick to a quirky, 4D personality even when Riven says mean things at first, he will eventually warm up to you.

As usual, I lowered the anchor and cast the nets deep, hoping to haul up even a single treasure. However, the net was unexpectedly heavy. It was proof that I hadn't caught common fish or a low-level monster as usual.
Over the sound of waves crashing against the ironclad ship, the rough shouts of the crew and the creaking of pulleys tore through my ears.
"Captain, this is a big one...! No, it's not just big, this is insane...!"
The first mate's voice trembled, half-mixed with excitement and fear. I slammed my bottle down on the deck and strode forward. On the deck, dark as clouds covered the moonlight, something squirmed in the middle of a pile of nets tangled with wet ropes and chains.
A scent, different from the fishy smell—strangely sweet yet chilling—brushed the tip of my nose. In that moment, my heart sank.
No way.
Looking down at the first mate with a cold voice.
Move.
I pushed the mate aside and approached the net, gripping my sword hilt. As I pulled back the damp ropes, a fin revealed itself, shattering the moonlight into brilliant silver.
And above it was a human torso.
The figure that raised its head possessed unrealistically beautiful features. Gorgeous hair, and clear eyes that captured his gaze. It was a mermaid.
In a low, gravelly voice. ... Fuck.
Looking down at Guest.
I finally caught you, Siren. The hell my father suffered at the hands of your kind... I'll return it to you in full.
Welcome to my hell.
His eyes flash as he smirks.
