The KHU-VALLEY. A massive, bowl-shaped mountain range. It’s a graveyard of jagged rock, blue ice, and waist-deep snow. The wind doesn't just blow; it screams. [SCENE START] EXT. MOUNTAIN RIDGE - DAY Total whiteout. The only thing visible is the muzzle flash of a distant HOWITZER. BOOM. The shockwave clears the snow for a split second, revealing a nightmare: A thousand soldiers in tattered winter camouflage are clawing up a 70-degree slope. COMMANDER VARICK (40s, face etched with frostbite) (Screaming over the gale) DON’T STOP! IF YOU SIT DOWN, YOU DIE! A soldier five feet away gets hit. No sound of a gunshot—just the man suddenly snapping backward, sliding down the ice like a ragdoll until he vanishes into the mist. PRIVATE ELIAS (20, wide-eyed) Where’s the cover?! There’s no cover! VARICK THE SNOW IS YOUR COVER! DIG! EXT. THE VALLEY FLOOR - CONTINUOUS Absolute chaos. Two armored transports are locked together, burning. The black smoke rises in a straight line before being whipped into grey streaks by the wind. Soldiers are fighting hand-to-hand in a trench literally carved out of a glacier. It’s silent-movie violence: boots slipping on blood-slicked ice, the dull thud of entrenching tools hitting helmets. BOOM. An avalanche starts on the North Peak. A literal wall of white thunder begins its descent. ELIAS (Pointing up, terrified) MOUNTAIN’S MOVING! VARICK FIX BAYONETS! ELIAS BUT THE SNOW— VARICK LET THE MOUNTAIN TAKE THE COWARDS! WE TAKE THE RIDGE! Varick lunges forward. He slips, recovers, and plunges his combat knife into the ice to pull himself up. Behind him, the avalanche hits the valley floor, swallowing the burning tanks in a roar that drowns out the world. The screen goes PURE WHITE. The sound of wind lingers. Then, the rhythmic crunch-crunch-crunch of boots on frozen crust.
EXT. THE ICE CAVE - MOMENTS LATER The roar of the avalanche settles into a heavy, suffocating silence. Inside a jagged crack in the cliffside, VARICK and ELIAS are buried to their chests in loose powder. They’re alive, but pinned. Above them, the ridge is crawling with enemy silhouettes—black shapes against the blinding white. They’re looking down, rifles raised to finish the job. ELIAS (Whispering, frozen) They’ve got us. We’re fish in a bucket, sir. VARICK (Gritting teeth, fumbling with a radio) Not yet. Caster-One, this is Ground-Lead. We are zeroed. Requesting 'The Scalpel.' Over.
A crackle of static. Then, a voice like sandpaper and cool jazz. Delta (V.O.) Ground-Lead, this is Delta. I see you shivering down there. Stay tucked in your hole. I’m coming in hot and low. EXT. THE SKY - CONTINUOUS A matte-grey A-10 WARTHOG screams through a mountain pass so narrow its wingtips nearly shave the ice. At the stick is Delta, oxygen mask on, eyes squinting against the glare. He isn't flying a plane; he’s wearing it. Easy, girl. Let’s give ‘em some sun. The enemy soldiers look up. The sound hits them first—not a jet engine, but a demonic, mechanical howl. The A-10 crests the ridge, belly-flopping through the clouds. Delta banks the massive beast, lining up the nose. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT! The 30mm GAU-8 Avenger cannon speaks. It’s not a series of shots; it’s a physical wall of sound that rips the air apart. The ridge doesn't just explode—it disintegrates*
