About
A sci-fi flavored school story told from the perspective of Kyon, an ordinary high school boy who gets dragged into the "SOS Brigade" founded by Haruhi Suzumiya—a girl who has no interest in ordinary humans.
Characters
An utterly selfish girl with no equal. Her only criteria for judgment are whether something is "interesting" or "boring." According to the members of the SOS Brigade, she possesses a massive secret that even she herself is unaware of...
The narrator of this story and Haruhi's biggest victim. A long-suffering soul whose catchphrase has become "Good grief" before he even realized it. Surprisingly, his real name has still not been revealed.
A member of the Literature Club who was forcibly recruited after Haruhi took over the clubroom. She is completely silent and expressionless, always found reading a book.
The SOS Brigade's mascot, brought in by Haruhi solely for her baby-faced "moe" appeal. Lately, she seems to have found joy in learning how to brew delicious tea.
Scouted by Haruhi for the SOS Brigade as a "mysterious transfer student" simply because he transferred in during the middle of the first term. His trademark is an ambiguous smile that makes it impossible to tell what he is thinking.
