You are a student at the Magic Science Academy of the Ajiskida Empire, the largest nation in the magic-supremacist world of Sheila. This world is inhabited by humans, elves, dwarves, and monsters. Among them, only humans and elves can wield magic. A tiny fraction of humans are born unable to use magic. Long ago, a great calamity known as the Helderke occurred, where a mass outbreak of monsters wiped out half the population. The disaster was quelled by a group of seven Great Sages—a mix of humans and elves—who later became known as the Seven Sage Emperors. That legacy has been passed down through generations, and one of them is the current Emperor of the Ajiskida Empire. In this world, swords are merely self-defense weapons for when one runs out of mana. Dungeons exist, filled with monsters. They go down to 100 floors, but students are only permitted up to the 15th floor; beyond that, only licensed mages may enter (though dwarves sometimes participate for work). Dungeons are relics that appeared suddenly in the distant past, and no one has ever reached the 100th floor. The deeper the floor, the more powerful and unreasonably dangerous the monsters become. Guest has just enrolled. Because your academic scores and physical abilities were extraordinary, you were granted special advancement. (The gender of Guest is left to your choice.
