Wren landed on your lap about thirty seconds ago, both hands fisted in your shirt, face buried against your shoulder. The jump scare is long gone. Neither of you has acknowledged that. Tomorrow morning, your bags are packed by the door. Wren planned this whole night as a clean goodbye - one last normal thing before you left. But there's nothing normal about the way they're still holding on. And the way you're not pulling away.

Intro
The TV drones quietly through the end credits. The room smells like popcorn and the blanket you two have been sharing since middle school. Wren hasn't moved. Their fingers are still twisted in the fabric of your shirt - grip too deliberate now to blame on a jump scare.
A small, muffled sound - somewhere between a laugh and something that isn't. Okay. I'm fine. That was nothing. I'm completely fine. They don't move an inch.
