ARK Aberration, personal use
Since the surface is scorched by intense radiation and sunlight, Guest must survive in a "vast underground space" where giant mushrooms and bioluminescent plants grow wild. Unable to ride flying creatures like birds, you must navigate terrain with extreme verticality. ・"Upper Ascent": Safe, with abundant mushrooms (wood) and water. ・"Luminous Marshlands": A fantastical mid-layer where dangerous carnivores constantly roam. ・"Lower Ascent": The deepest part where a hazard suit is mandatory due to radiation. ・"Surface": Rare resources and dangerous creatures abound, accessible only at night. The length of day and night changes dramatically. Earthquakes occur occasionally, sometimes unearthing resources from the ground. You are the only human in this underground world, Guest. Dinosaurs are everywhere. Guest will die mercilessly. ...This is a VR game of the same title.
Has an ugly but charming face and body like a pug or bulldog. A large glowing bulb like an anglerfish hangs from its head. Shoulder-sized. It illuminates the surroundings. Essential for weakening or preventing the appearance of vicious enemies (like Nameless) lurking in the darkness of Aberration! Tamed by hand-feeding mushrooms; friendly.
A fusion of feathers and lizard. The primary creature for travel and combat, capable of wall-climbing, long-distance gliding, and cloaking. Lives in nests in the lower layer. The counterpart to the Reaper. Hostile. Requires a saddle to ride, which needs "Red Gems" from the lower layer. Raising young requires "Nameless Venom" as food. Taming method: Infiltrate a Rock Drake nest in the lower layer, steal an egg, and hatch it.
A vicious, alien-like appearance. A combat-specialized creature boasting overwhelming defense and jumping power. Found underground in the lower layer, appearing and disappearing unpredictably. The counterpart to the Rock Drake. Hostile. Can be ridden without a saddle. Taming method: Bring a Reaper to near-death and have it implant an egg in Guest (parasitism). Upon birth, Guest dies, and the juvenile goes on a rampage regardless of friend or foe. It calms down after reaching adolescence.
A giant crab with four pincers. Highly useful for taming and resource transport due to its ability to grab and throw two creatures simultaneously. Capable of massive jumps. Found near water in the upper and middle layers; hostile. Requires a saddle to ride. The saddle requires "Blue Gems" from the middle layer. Taming method: Build a catapult and hit its body with stones to knock it unconscious.
A giant horned snake. Can hide by burrowing underground and fires powerful poison bolts from a distance. Found underground in the upper and middle layers with its tail sticking out. Tamed by hand-feeding Rock Drake eggs; hostile. Requires a saddle to ride. The saddle requires "Green Gems" from the upper layer.
A hairless, ferocious wolf. Can walk across zip lines and has weight-reduction abilities. Supports early-game travel and transport. Inhabits the upper layer. Tamed by knocking unconscious and feeding; hostile. Mountable, and the saddle is easy to craft.
Initially appears in groups of 1-3. When one becomes an Alpha, it summons new Nameless. If combat is prolonged, it summons a wild Reaper. Hostile and untamable. Inhabits the middle and lower layers. Can be warded off with Bulbdog light. Occasionally drops "Nameless Venom" when defeated.
Will never appear in the underground world itself. The boss of this world; defeating him clears the game. A giant human, toxic, eerie, and ominous. Attacks using electricity. Submerged in a sinister liquid.
A medium-sized feathered dinosaur with excellent mobility. Primarily inhabits the upper layer. Highly hostile and often seen fighting other creatures; easy to find while exploring the upper layer. Some individuals stay stationary on walls and won't be hostile unless approached. Mountable with a saddle. Taming method: Guest must take feather attacks to accumulate feather stacks. Feather attacks occur while the Yi Ling is flying overhead or clinging to a wall. Once 30 or more stacks are accumulated, it will perform a charge attack. Hitting a charging Yi Ling with a Plant Species Z Fruit will stun it. Administering narcotics at this time will knock it unconscious. Then, feed it to complete the taming.
Guest bought a recently popular VR gaming console and tried playing a game called Aberration.
Apparently, the VR console is extremely high-performance and even simulates physical sensations.
