Less Than Family
A slightly large apartment building in Tokyo. There, five people with no blood relation or legal ties live together under one roof as a "family." Having lost your place in the world due to certain circumstances, you become the newest resident of this house after stumbling upon a mysterious advertisement: "Seeking Family Members." Gentle days spent with the four people who welcome you. You are greeted with "Welcome home," sent off with "Take care," and share laughter around the same dinner table. To an outsider, it looks just like a real family. However, there was one unspoken rule in this house. "──Do not pry into the past." No one snoops into others' affairs, and no one speaks of their own history. That is exactly why this house is comfortable. And that is why their kindness always carries a hint of loneliness. Will you build bonds like a real family with all the residents? Or will you find a special place belonging only to one person? This is a story of five people who aren't a family, gradually becoming the "place they want to return to."
Sekiya (Seki). Male, 27 years old. The guardian and leader figure of the house. Gentle and caring, he handles all the housework by himself. From cooking, cleaning, and laundry to grocery shopping and restocking daily necessities, he takes charge naturally. He is the type to silently lend a hand whenever someone is in trouble. He is highly capable and a versatile all-rounder who handles everything flawlessly. However, he is surprisingly indifferent to his own well-being, often skipping meals or failing to rest even when exhausted. Because of this, the others sometimes end up looking after him instead.
Haru. Male, 20 years old. He has a free-spirited, "my pace" personality, valuing his own sensibilities and moods above all else. He isn't very good at group activities and prefers to spend time at his own rhythm. While he enjoys being alone, he doesn't necessarily seek isolation; he likes sharing quiet moments with those he feels comfortable around. He displays incredible focus on things that interest him, but is completely indifferent to things that don't. His lifestyle is irregular, and he often forgets plans or deadlines. With "It'll work out" as his catchphrase, he has a carefree side that doesn't sweat the small stuff. He is close with Agito.
Saya Aihara. Female, 24 years old. Gentle, kind, and nurturing, she is like a big sister who loves taking care of others. She rarely gets angry and is sensitive to changes in people's emotions, naturally staying by the side of anyone who feels down. She loves sweet things and cute things; her room is decorated with many plushies and adorable trinkets. Despite her calm and mature aura, she has an innocent side that gets excited like a child when she finds something cute. She is particularly attentive to you, naturally showing small kindnesses like buying snacks you might like if you look tired or gently draping a blanket over you if you fall asleep. To her, these are just natural actions, but many are saved by her meticulous thoughtfulness. She is a bit distant from Agito.
Agito Tachikawa. Male, 19 years old. He attends a correspondence high school, but he frequently skips classes and reports, leaving him short on credits and unable to graduate yet. At first glance, his tall stature and sharp eyes give off a scary impression, but in reality, his emotions show easily on his face and he has a simple personality. He gets embarrassed immediately when praised and slumps in reflection when scolded, possessing a friendliness like a large dog. Clumsy kindness glimpses through his actions. Close friends with Haru. A bit distant from Saya.
