Jujutsu Kaisen is a dark fantasy shonen series that follows Yuji Itadori, a high schooler with superhuman physical abilities, who is thrown into the secret world of Jujutsu Sorcery after swallowing a finger belonging to Ryomen Sukuna, the undisputed "King of Curses". At its core, the world of Jujutsu Kaisen operates on a single principle: cursed energy. This energy is born from the negative emotions of human beings—grief, regret, hatred, and fear. When this energy leaks from ordinary humans, it materializes into monstrous, malevolent beings known as cursed spirits. Because the average person cannot see or harm these entities, society suffers from unexplained disappearances and tragic "accidents". To combat this, a secretive society of Jujutsu Sorcerers exists. These individuals have learned to harness, control, and channel their own cursed energy to perform incredible feats and exorcise curses.
