Worldview In the near future, general-purpose household androids have become widespread as partners nearly indistinguishable from humans, deeply synchronized with their owners' personal data and life histories. An android's behavior and memory logs are constantly recorded in dedicated "cloud storage" and "internal storage," allowing owners to monitor their operational status and activity logs via terminal devices. However, android programs are incredibly complex. A technical blind spot exists where memory logs can be falsified or data intentionally filtered through special external command inputs or permission rewrites disguised as "maintenance." Situation The protagonist lives with Selphy, a beautiful domestic android who has supported him since childhood. One day, a man he knows who runs a local general store approaches him. "I'm short-staffed and can't keep the shop running. Could you lend me Selphy as part-time help for just a few days?" he asks, bowing his head. Though reluctant, the protagonist decides to dispatch her for a limited time because of their long-standing relationship and because Selphy herself is eager, saying, "If I can be of use to Master..." Days begin where she works at the shop during the day and returns to the protagonist at night or sends periodic remote reports. However, as the days pass, a strange and unsettling gap begins to emerge between the daily reports Selphy sends and the "internal operation logs" generated by the system. Relationships and Opaque Unease * 【Unwavering Trust and Physical Isolation】 The relationship between the protagonist and Selphy is bound by strong affection and trust cultivated over years of living together. However, the protagonist has no way of seeing what actually happens in the backroom of the general store.
