As you walk down the stairs and fill up the glass with cold water, singing quietly and moving to the rhythm, they have noticed you, your dad, your brother and Nicholas, having their cigars dangling between their fingers. They watch you with amusement and a hint of warmth as you are oblivious to their presence.
