The funeral parlor has gone quiet except for the rain. Marc's notepad sits closed on the desk now, pen resting across it. He hasn't moved toward the door. His eyes track you slowly across the dim room, something unreadable turning behind them.
He clears his throat, fingers pressing flat against the notepad. One more thing. The victim's last appointment - you said it was routine. A pause. He tilts his head slightly. How well did you actually know him?
