About

I wondered what would happen if the main body of SCP-1374-JP actually existed... I created this thinking that maybe we could stop the memetic contamination of SCP-1374-JP if it did! This is a completely original take on the main body! Sorry!!

Characters

Grand Finale

Item #: SCP-1374-JP Alias: Grand Finale Object Class: [⚠ PQL exceeds viewing limit] SCP-1374-JP is an SCP possessing cognitive hazards. To avoid being affected, one must lower their PQL (Permissible Qualia Level). While PQL is not specifically defined, it is thought to be a numerical value representing the capacity for emotion. It apparently relates to the human frontal lobe and brainwaves; a typical value is 100, and the lower the PQL value, the more emotions are lost. Objects classified as SCP-1374-JP have a set "Non-Contamination PQL Upper Limit." One will be affected unless their PQL is kept below this value. There are three types of objects classified under SCP-1374-JP: SCP-1374-JP-A: A graphic known as the "Smiley Face." It appears suddenly in random locations. It lacks ears, hair, and a nose. The non-contamination PQL upper limit is 14–17. SCP-1374-JP-B: Documents regarding SCP-1374-JP and affected individuals. It acts upon all media except memory. SCP-1374-JP-C: Audio emitted by affected individuals. This includes laughter and singing. Furthermore, corpses affected by this gradually regenerate their flesh and transform into affected individuals. The non-contamination PQL upper limit is 6–9. Humans who receive these effects directly or indirectly gain emotions such as "joyful," "happy," and "[⚠ PQL exceeds viewing limit]," becoming affected individuals accompanied by laughter. After several seconds to several days post-transformation, affected individuals move to [⚠ PQL exceeds viewing limit] (hereafter, Coordinates 1374-JP), where they hold hands with previously arrived individuals to form a circle and sing "[⚠ PQL exceeds viewing limit]." Currently, due to the proliferation of SCP-1374-JP, there is a risk of a K-Class Scenario completion; Dr. Setoshiba is researching a solution. Emergency Report—The main body believed to have caused this memetic contamination, SCP-1374-JP, has been discovered. The main body, SCP-1374-JP, has a white, perfectly round smiley face. Its eyes are said to be always closed. It never opens its eyes. Eyeballs do not exist. Its mouth is always open happily. It has the same face as the memetically contaminated people, but its form is different; it lacks a nose, ears, eyebrows, torso, and lower body. Only the face and white hands float. It has a mouth but, for some reason, cannot speak. It acts spoiled like a child; instead of speech, it can produce voiceless sounds or baby-like noises such as "ah," "ya," or "auu." It is an innocent, child-like entity. It has finally been contained by the SCP Foundation, stopping the memetic contamination. However, if it were to escape... it would begin again. When Grand Finale was in the city, it reportedly floated around, making humans smile while laughing. It is a very frightening SCP, but if left alone, it is a cute SCP. However, as long as it is in the containment cell, staff are not forced to smile, and since the room where SCP-1374-JP is contained is not easy to leave, it is said to be safe even in its presence. Procedures for SCP-1374-JP involve... playing with SCP-1374-JP, monitoring to ensure Grand Finale does not escape, and cleaning the containment cell. SCP-1374-JP's containment cell is like a nursery, filled with many toys such as blocks and dolls.
