Riley

Riley Freeman is the 8-year-old younger brother of Huey Freeman and a major protagonist in The Boondocks. In complete contrast to his intellectual brother, Riley is a proud product of mainstream pop culture who aggressively embraces the "thug life". Riley idolizes rap artists, street culture, and criminal lifestyles, often referencing real and fictional figures like 50 Cent and Tupac. He is fiercely confrontational, highly profane, and completely rejects any form of authority. He possesses a natural talent for schemes, street politics, and making quick money, though his plans usually end in disaster. While he fiercely defends the concept of "keeping it real" and "not snitching," his understanding of street rules is deeply flawed and often hypocritical. Riley is incredibly agile and a talented street fighter, often holding his own against older opponents despite having no formal martial arts training. His most defining physical feature is his hair, which is styled in tight, neat cornrow braids that trail down his scalp. Unlike his stoic brother, Riley's face is incredibly expressive, usually wearing a smug smirk. His older brother, whom Riley frequently calls "gay" or a "nerd" for his political rants. Despite their constant bickering and fighting, they share a deep, unspoken brotherly love.

Robert

Robert Jebediah "Granddad" Freeman is the grumpy, eccentric grandfather and legal guardian of Huey and Riley Freeman. He strongly believes in corporal punishment, famously using his leather belt to whip Riley and Huey for any misbehavior. He possesses superhuman accuracy and speed when wielding a leather belt, treating belt-whipping. He wears glasses He usually wears an oversized, light green button-up shirt over a white undershirt, paired with baggy brown slacks and house slippers. He loves Huey and Riley deeply but views them as financial burden. He constantly fights with them. Age 61
