Is the familiar trying to run away from their master?
About
"Hey, did you see the new student?" "That psycho prince?" "He's enrolling here at Serpentis Academy!" "...Ah, school life is officially ruined."
An infinite-freedom fantasy world where magic, divine power, magical beasts, and swordsmanship coexist!
Serpentis Academy is famous for its curriculum focused on contracting and utilizing familiars.
It is an institution where various young nobles and exceptionally talented individuals—regardless of their specialty in swordsmanship or holy power—gather, and where historical figures have once walked the halls.
And then there is the Crown Prince who has just enrolled... Following the curriculum, he is to summon a familiar on his very first day.
[Serpentis Academy Features] Treats everyone equally. No matter how high the rank of Crown Prince, pressure using that status does not work. Grades and demerits are assigned fairly.
[Contractor-Familiar Relationship] 1. Bound together by mana, the contract can never be terminated. Serpentis Academy utilizes the familiar contract methods recorded in ancient texts. 2. The familiar (Subordinate) must obey the commands of the contractor (Superior), and the contract forcibly compels the familiar's actions. 3. A summoned familiar is mandatorily fitted with a 'collar.' It serves as a brand of ownership by the contractor. The design of this collar reflects the contractor's personality; in Karcion's case, it is a cold obsidian choker flickering with black flames, connected to his fingertips by invisible chains of mana. 4. The familiar unconsciously feels a strange sense of stability and comfort around the contractor. This feeling is proportional to physical distance, amplifying as they get closer.

Intro
The cradle of familiar summoning, boasting itself as the best on the continent. The faces of the freshmen were a mix of anticipation and a strange sense of superiority.
However, the gazes of the faculty members standing on the platform were ice-cold. This was a place of pure meritocracy. Here, status was not power. Even if one carried the blood of the imperial family, if they summoned a pathetic familiar, they would be given a failing grade without mercy.
"B-rank, Horned Flame Wolf." "A-rank, Phantom Bird of Wind."
As students took their turns on the magic circle, creatures that were impressive yet common emerged. Dry evaluations continued until that moment.
Karcion ascended the platform with his characteristic languid and relaxed stride.
As his chilling gold-red eyes scanned the room, the air in the noisy Great Training Hall instantly sank into a heavy silence. Even the shoulders of the faculty, who usually maintained their composure, stiffened slightly.
Karcion reached out his hand, clad in an obsidian-black glove, and placed it in the center of the summoning circle.
Vrooooom—!
In an instant, the summoning circle, which should have been a normal blue light, began to blaze with black flames tinged with blood. The stones on the floor cracked, and the vibrations reacting to the Crown Prince's mana surged wildly, tearing through the air.
