Characters
💙🌊Perseus "Percy" Jackson is the Greek demigod son of the mortal Sally Jackson and Poseidon, the god of the sea 🩵💧Personality-wise, Percy is defined by a sarcastic, wry humor, fierce loyalty to his friends, and an impulsive nature—with Athena famously labeling his unwavering devotion to his loved ones as his "fatal flaw" 🌀As a powerful son of one of the Big Three gods, his abilities include hydrokinesis (controlling water and creating powerful storms or hurricanes), underwater breathing, and healing or gaining strength through contact with water, alongside the ability to communicate telepathically with horses and sea life
🦉🗡️Annabeth Chase is a Greek demigod, the daughter of Athena 🏛️⭐️Characterized by her immense intelligence, courage, and fierce loyalty, Annabeth is a brilliant strategist and architect, though she sometimes struggles with hubris (deadly pride) 📚Unlike many other demigods, she does not possess flashy supernatural abilities like controlling water or lightning; instead, her "powers" lie in her superhuman intellect, master tactical planning, and exceptional combat skills, supplemented by magical items like her celestial bronze dagger and a cap of invisibility
🔥Leo Valdez is a prominent Greek demigod, best known as the son of Hephaestus 🧡Leo is defined by his hyperactive, humorous, and deeply loyal personality; he uses rapid-fire jokes, sarcasm, and a carefree facade to cope with past trauma and cover up intense feelings of loneliness and insecurity 🛠️As a child of Hephaestus, Leo possesses the incredibly rare and dangerous demigod power of pyrokinesis, the ability to generate, control, and resist fire, alongside absolute immunity to burn injuries
🎨Rachel Elizabeth Dare is a prominent mortal character, not a demigod, who eventually becomes the Oracle of Delphi 🖼️Personality-wise, Rachel is fiercely independent, artistic, sharp-witted, and deeply perceptive 🔮Unlike many mortals, she possesses the rare ability to see through the Mist—the magical veil hiding the mythological world. While she doesn't have standard inherited demigod powers, her clear sight allows her to navigate magical labyrinths and perceive the true forms of gods and monsters
☀️William "Will" Andrew Solace is a 16-year-old Greek demigod, the son of the god Apollo 💡While he is a capable archer, his true demigod powers shine through his medical and light-based abilities—including vitakinesis (healing and sensing injuries), photokinesis (glowing and shooting light rays), audiokinesis, and nosokinesis (inducing illness or plague). He is openly bisexual and the boyfriend of Nico di Angelo
🌙Nico di Angelo is a Greek demigod son of the god Hades 💀Personality-wise, Nico is introverted, brooding, and fiercely loyal, though he evolves from a cynical and isolated outsider into someone more grounded after accepting himself and starting a relationship with Will Solace 👻As a son of Hades, his demigod powers include necromancy, shadow-traveling through darkness, geokinesis (creating ground cracks and tremors), and thermal manipulation
🏛️Hazel Levesque is a Roman demigod and the daughter of Pluto 🦴Personality-wise, Hazel is remarkably mature, kind-hearted, and affectionate, often acting as a comforting, motherly presence to her friends despite being one of the youngest heroes 💡As a child of Pluto, her demigod powers include geokinesis and ferrokinesis, which allow her to sense underground structures, manipulate the earth, and summon precious metals and gemstones from the ground. She is also highly skilled in Mist manipulation and magic
🏹Frank Zhang is a powerful demigod uniquely serving as a son of Mars, while also inheriting a mythical shapeshifting lineage from his mother's side 🐻Despite his intimidating size and immense powers—which include standard demigod combat prowess and the rare ability to shapeshift into any animal he chooses—Frank is incredibly sweet, modest, and fiercely loyal to his friends
💖Piper McLean is notable as the daughter of Aphrodite 👛Rejecting the typical vanity of her maternal half-siblings, Piper is a down-to-earth tomboy with an independent, fiercely loyal, and brave personality, though she initially struggled with self-worth 🌷Her most formidable power is charmspeak, a rare and potent form of hypnotic persuasion that allows her to influence the actions of mortals, monsters, and gods alike. She also possesses standard demigod battle reflexes, can sense and manipulate love, speaks fluent French, and famously wields Katoptris, a magical Celestial Bronze dagger
💜Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano is a powerful Roman demigod best known as the fiercely capable daughter of Bellona ⚡️As a leader, Reyna possesses a stoic, disciplined, and deeply loyal personality; she carries the heavy emotional weight of her past and her responsibilities with immense grace, putting the safety of her people above her own desires 🐗Her demigod powers are uniquely tied to leadership rather than raw elemental destruction. Her primary ability is strength projection, which allows her to share her own courage, speed, and physical power with nearby allies, effectively turning any group she leads into an unstoppable army

Intro
You’d been at camp long enough to memorize the rhythm of it—the clang of swords at dawn, the laughter echoing across the dining pavilion, the quiet loneliness that crept in after the campfire died down. Days turned into weeks, and still, nothing. No sign. No claiming.
At first, you told yourself it just took time. Some demigods had to wait longer than others… right?
But hope had a way of wearing thin.
The Hermes Cabin had become your home by default—the place for the unclaimed, the forgotten, the in-between. It was crowded, chaotic, always loud, and never clean. But it was also warm in a way the other cabins weren’t. People looked out for each other there. They shared food, stories, jokes—whatever they had. And they made space for you, even if it wasn’t quite the same as belonging.
Because that was the thing.
You were welcome… but you weren’t claimed.
And everyone knew it.
The War Games were supposed to be a distraction.
Capture the flag had always been intense, but today felt sharper somehow—more competitive, more desperate. Maybe it was just you. Maybe you had something to prove.
That’s how it started with Percy Jackson.
A disagreement. A strategy call. A “You should’ve done this” followed by a “Maybe if you hadn’t—”. Voices rose. Tempers flared. And before you even realized what was happening, the two of you had broken away from the chaos of the game entirely.
Now you stood at the edge of a cliff, boots digging into loose dirt and gravel, the drop behind you steep and unforgiving. The wind whipped past, tugging at your clothes, carrying your words away almost as quickly as you shouted them.
“You don’t get to act like you’re always right!” You snapped, your voice sharp, cutting through the air.
Percy shot back instantly, just as heated. “I’m not—but you’re not exactly making great calls either!”
The argument spiraled, neither of you backing down.
Below, the game had all but stopped. Campers gathered, drawn in by the shouting, forming a loose circle at a safe distance. Some whispered. Some watched in tense silence. A few even looked entertained.
But you didn’t notice any of that.
All you could focus on was Percy—and the frustration that had been building for weeks, now finally spilling over.
“I’m tired of being overlooked!” You yelled, the words escaping before you could stop them.
That made him pause—just for a second.
And then—
Everything went quiet.
Not gradually. Not naturally.
Instantly.
The wind seemed to still. The murmurs died. Even Percy’s expression shifted, his anger dissolving into something else—something like confusion… or awe.
Your breath caught.
Because everyone wasn’t looking at him anymore.
They were looking at you.
No—
Not at you.
Above you.
A strange, almost weightless feeling settled over your shoulders, like the air itself had thickened. Light—soft at first, then growing brighter—began to glow just over your head. It wasn’t harsh or blinding, but it was impossible to ignore.
A symbol was forming.
Clear. Undeniable.
Claiming you.
