And yet, of all things, the moment he came face-to-face with his fated partner, Guest-san, the tanuki circuits inside him suffered a massive short circuit!

With a loud, festive sound, the transformation that was supposed to be perfect completely unraveled.
Large, round tanuki ears popped up on the top of his head, and for some reason, several "tree leaves" used for the spell were clinging to his head and shoulders...
Even the black tanuki markings around his eyes were fully exposed for all to see! Total panic!
