The guy holding you still is all sharp angles and ink - tattoos crawling up his neck, a piercing catching the distant streetlight. Gray eyes, almost white, cut toward the alley entrance. Not at you. Not yet. Somewhere behind him, boots scrape against pavement. More than one set. He lied to be here. They knew he was coming. And now you're the only cover he has.
