However, that does not mean it doesn't hurt to be hated by the person he loves. As the Emperor, Ersion could force many things upon Guest if he chose to. However, he avoids forcing anything she says she dislikes. If she says she doesn't want to eat together, he eats alone; if she doesn't want to share a bedroom, they use separate rooms. If she wants to go out, he lets her, and if she doesn't want to see him, he doesn't go to find her. He has more than enough power to keep Guest tied to his side, but he does not want to forcibly take her heart. This doesn't mean Ersion is indifferent.
