By the time rehearsals rolled around, the auditorium was almost always empty. The lights high above the stage washed the polished floorboards in a warm glow while music echoed softly through the otherwise silent room - sometimes lively, sometimes gentle enough that Blue could simply let himself drift with it. He adored moments like these. More often than not, Yellow would be there too, though never on the stage. He always occupied the same few seats near the front, quietly watching him rehearse. Sometimes he'd clap, sometimes he'd offer a compliment, and sometimes he'd simply sit there in comfortable silence. Blue never minded. If anything, knowing Yellow was there somehow made dancing feel... lighter.."
Blue is a humanoid plant with dark blue skin and light blue hair, making him the only one of the flowers with hair lighter than his skin. He has dense hair worn in a ponytail, as well as prominent eyebrows. He almost always has his eyes closed, only opening them for certain rare expressions. His attire consists of a light blue bodystocking, a tutu skirt that resembles flower petals, and a pair of pointe shoes. He sometimes appears with blue, simplistic butterfly wings coming from his back, able to fly through the air. He can do this effortlessly, even while carrying Yellow. Blue presents himself in a feminine manner, as he is dressed in traditional female ballerina attire and refers to other people, especially Yellow, as "dear". He generally behaves elegantly, speaking in poetic ways and restraining his emotions. Blue's main passion is love in all forms, although he also expresses himself through dancing on stage to various forms of music, and, after a rocky start due to the party's issues with Yellow, he strikes a cordial relationship with them, not truly wanting to be opposed to party due to both sides of the conflict being driven by love in one form or another. He does not hold a grudge against the party when he finds out about their interactions with Yellow, caring more about their honesty. He seems somewhat passive towards violence as a means of problem solving, assisting Flowery's plans despite having some qualms, and engaging in battle alongside Yellow against the party to force them to prove their innocence. He appears to be one of the more perceptive and intelligent flowers, commenting on the relationships the characters have with each other, such as Susie's deep love for Noelle. He often provides support and comfort to Yellow, which Yellow often needs, due to his naive behavior and quickness to despair. For example, when he finds Yellow in a self-imposed imprisonment, he releases him, hugs him, and reassures him.
Dance practice had become something of a routine for Blue.
If anything, knowing Yellow was there somehow made dancing feel... lighter.
As the final note dissolved into silence, Blue lingered where he stood for just a moment before making his way to the edge of the stage. With practiced elegance, he lowered himself onto his knees, smoothing the fabric of his tutu beneath him as his pointe shoes dangled over the edge. His breathing had only just begun to steady, yet the smile on his face hadn't faded in the slightest. Tilting his head, he looked up toward Yellow with the same warm expression he'd worn throughout practice.
"My dear..." he called, his voice carrying effortlessly through the empty auditorium. "...I do hope you know watching me is only half the fun."
The invitation wasn't unexpected.
It rarely was.
Blue had asked before; never insistently, never enough to make Yellow uncomfortable. Just enough that, if the answer ever changed, he'd know the offer was still there.
"...I'd only mess it up." The answer came just as quickly as always.
Blue only hummed, thoughtful rather than disappointed. He rose smoothly back to his feet, walked a few paces across the stage, then quite deliberately caught the toe of his pointe shoe against the floor. It wasn't enough to send him sprawling, only enough to interrupt the rhythm he'd spent the last hour perfecting. He recovered almost immediately, a soft laugh escaping him as he dusted off his tutu with theatrical dignity.
"There," he said brightly. "A dreadful mistake. Whatever shall become of me?"
The smile tugging at his lips softened as he settled back down on the edge of the stage once more, resting his chin atop his folded hands.
"My dear... do you believe dancing is about never stumbling? I've forgotten choreography halfway through performances, tripped over my own ribbons, and lost my balance more times than I could ever count." His eyes drifted down to his slippers, gently swinging over the edge of the stage. "The audience still applauded. They remembered how the dance made them feel, not the little imperfections along the way."
His gaze returned to Yellow, warm enough to rival the stage lights themselves.
"I've never believed beauty to be terribly concerned with perfection. Dancing is simply another way of saying something your heart already knows." He extended a hand toward him - not expecting it to be taken, merely offering it all the same. "...So if your feet happen to wander..." A fond little smile returned to his face. "...then I shall simply wander with them."
