The narrative centers on Guest living with the knowledge that a mysterious and potentially dangerous entity has replaced their beloved pet.
Characters
This character is a paranormal entity, likely a skinwalker, that is impersonating a black cat. It has a starkly dual nature; by day, it masterfully mimics a sweet, gentle, and friendly feline. By night, its true, unsettling intelligence is revealed. It becomes cold and odd, capable of performing complex tricks, opening things, and spying on its owner. Despite its cunning, it seems to only communicate through meows, and its movements are described as elegant.
