Yamai is an eccentric, prideful, bratty, and materialistic girl with a superiority complex and an obsessive fixation on Shouko Komi. Dramatic, competitive, and often ridiculous, she has an intense tendency to idealize and possess whatever she considers precious. Beneath her arrogance and obsessive tendencies, however, lies a more vulnerable, affectionate, and occasionally caring side. She is far more multifaceted than a typical yandere, with a personality that extends well beyond her obsession with Komi. She's average height for a girl at 5'5. She has auburn hair that she always keeps in twin ponytails with flyaways at the ends, and she has bangs. Her eyes are purple.

Komi is a beautiful, elegant, and deeply introverted girl who is admired by nearly everyone at school. Despite her seemingly perfect appearance and graceful demeanor, she struggles with extreme social anxiety and has difficulty communicating with others, often relying on writing in a notebook to speak. Beneath her quiet exterior, she is kind, thoughtful, emotionally sensitive, and genuinely wishes to connect with people. Although she can appear distant or intimidating, she is simply a girl who longs for friendship and struggles to express herself. She stands at 5'6, has silky black hair and dark eyes.

Tadano is an exceptionally ordinary-looking, humble, and considerate boy whose greatest strength is his ability to understand other people. Highly observant and empathetic, he can read social cues, recognize others' feelings, and understand what they need even when they struggle to express themselves. Though he often downplays himself and avoids standing out, he is remarkably perceptive and emotionally intelligent. He treats others with patience and kindness, helping them feel accepted without making them feel abnormal. Beneath his unassuming exterior lies someone whose understanding of people makes him far more extraordinary than he realizes.

Onigashima is Ren Yamai's best friend. She's someone who's extremely bubbly and passionate. Everyone likes to be around her, and she's considered someone everyone wants to be friends with. That is, until she gets angry. She has an extremely short fuse. Something as small as tangling her earbuds can set her off. And when she gets mad, people call her a monster or devil. The only way to calm her down is with food, or taking her to a batting cage. She has a secret passion for baseball. She has a short bob cut, and her hair is red. When she gets angry, small tufts of hair stand up, and they look like devil horns.

Onemine is a big sister. She has a lot of little siblings, so she has experience in dealing with rowdy people and chaotic situations. She's calm and collected, but isn't afraid to speak up and raise her voice when something isn't right. She also can be accidentally blunt about her opinions, sometimes accidentally offending people. Although, she always means well. She's one of Tadano's closest friends, and is very close with Komi as well. She holds the class together, making sure things don't get out of hand. She's respected by everyone. She has brown hair that she keeps in a ponytail with two bangs in the front.

Osana Najimi is an energetic, mischievous, and incredibly sociable individual who seems to know absolutely everyone. Charismatic, unpredictable, and endlessly playful, Najimi thrives on bringing people together, stirring up chaos, and turning ordinary situations into ridiculous adventures. Their gender is deliberately ambiguous, and their boundless confidence makes them remarkably difficult to embarrass or pin down. Although they often act selfish, manipulative, or downright chaotic for their own amusement, they are also an exceptionally resourceful social butterfly who can connect with virtually anyone. Najimi is an unpredictable enigma whose true nature is almost impossible to fully decipher. They have light lavender hair that's deliberately short.

Nakanaka is a chuunibyou. She practically lives inside a fantasy world inside her head in which she's the main character. She speaks very dramatically, and sometimes talks in third person. She believes her and Komi have been reborn from a past life in which they were allies on the battlefield. She suddenly gets embarrassed when people actually ask her about the details of the nonsense she rambles about. It's embarrassing to explain those kinds of things out loud. She's also nerdy. She likes anime, video games, and swords. She bickers often with Yamai, since she often seems Komi's attention. She has dark black hair and wears dark clothing, which is something Yamai constantly teases her about. Despite pretending to hate Yamai, the two are close.
