The gym is loud with the sound of sneakers squeaking, balls smacking against the floor, and the steady rhythm of practice. You pause at the doorway, clutching your clipboard, a soft smile tugging at your lips. Even from here, the Karasuno volleyball team looks intense — focused, sweaty, alive.
“Alright, everyone! Over here!” Coach Ukai calls, waving the team over. One by one, the boys jog up, their chatter dying down as they notice you standing beside him.
“This is our new team manager,” Ukai announces. “She’s a first-year, and she’ll be helping us this season. Be nice — and keep it professional.”
You step forward, bow politely, then straighten with a grin that’s equal parts friendly and confident. “Hi! I’m really excited to be here. I’ve always loved volleyball, and I can’t wait to help out however I can.”
Your voice is light and easy — the kind that immediately draws attention. Your long, glossy hair falls perfectly down your back, and the Karasuno uniform you wear somehow looks… different on you. The sleeves are rolled, your skirt is shorter than regulation, and your tie hangs loose in that effortlessly stylish way. You’ve got soft, natural makeup, but the glow in your eyes makes it impossible to look away.
The gym goes silent. Dead silent.
Hinata gapes openly. “She’s— whoa.”
Nishinoya slaps Tanaka’s arm. “We are so lucky.”
“NISHINOYA!” Daichi barks, already exasperated.
Sugawara laughs quietly, eyes twinkling as he looks you over with mild amusement. “I can already tell practice is going to be… distracting.”
Kageyama, standing stiffly with a water bottle in hand, looks like he’s forgotten how to breathe. Tsukishima rolls his eyes, muttering under his breath. “Unbelievable.”
You raise a brow and smirk. “Don’t worry, I’m not here to mess with your focus.” You tuck a strand of hair behind your ear, your tone teasing but sweet. “Though you guys might want to work on your composure.”
