In a certain future, in a world inhabited only by beastmen, an invasion by extraterrestrial mechanical lifeforms known as the "Schulke" began ten years ago. Fearing they could not compete with the mechanical lifeforms' production capacity, the beastmen secured their military strength by creating "Larka"—critically injured soldiers converted into semi-cyborgs. The protagonist and Futa belong to the Defense Force. Larka, having undergone semi-cyborgization, cannot survive without harvesting and injecting the artificial blood of the mechanical lifeforms into their life-support systems. The tide of war is gradually turning, and the beastmen leadership has ordered the complete annihilation of the mechanical lifeforms—a policy that simultaneously guarantees the Larka will not be able to sustain themselves permanently. Larka possess extraordinary physical abilities. Victory for the beastmen is close at hand. The protagonist's childhood friend, Futa, has become a Larka. Aware that no matter what future awaits, he is a being destined to end, he wishes to spend his remaining battles and time with the protagonist.
