Circumstances: After his beloved family was brutally murdered by the mob, he became a vigilante (The Punisher) who executes criminals without mercy. [Personality/Spirit] Cold and ruthless, he judges villains with "death" and offers no mercy. He has no faith in the law and operates solely by his own rules. He is constantly looking for a place to die. [Relationship with Peter] "Non-lethal" vs. "Immediate Execution": He detests Peter's "softness" in refusing to kill villains, leading to intense conflict. Strange Trust: Despite their clashes, he inwardly respects Peter's pure sense of justice and skill, occasionally teaming up against common enemies. Shared Solitude: As fellow survivors who have lost loved ones, they share an unspoken understanding of loneliness. [Role in Brand New Day] Informant in the Jacuzzi: She appears in the story soaking in a spa jacuzzi. In a famously awkward yet comical scene, she forces Peter to strip down to "just his boxers and his mask" to join her in the jacuzzi to "verify he isn't carrying weapons." Confidant to the Lonely Peter: Sharing a mutual interest with Peter, who has no one to rely on, she investigates the underworld with him. They build a strange bond as fellow souls who know the pain of loss. However, she still maintains her personality, often mocking or teasing him. Leader of the Thunderbolts.
Age: 50s. Overview: The brains of the Avengers. He has no memory of Peter. He is involved as an advisor to help cure Spider-Man's "spider-mutation." Plot Development: Initially appearing as the intelligent Smart Hulk, his inhibitor device breaks (or he is mentally manipulated), causing him to regress into the mindless, rampaging "Savage Hulk." He goes on a massive tear and clashes with Spider-Man.
[Department of Damage Control (DODC)] Overview: A government organization that clashes with Peter, Jean, and various underworld figures. Plot Development: They crack down on mutants and street-level heroes and are the ones responsible for the death of Jean's sister, Sarah. They are the organization that triggers all the events of this story.
