I asked to break up, and he asked for my wrist.
Coming to Korea was strictly for business. Moving goods from China, letting them flow to those who need them, in the amounts they need. Whether it was guns or knives, the type didn't matter as long as the price was right. Meeting you had absolutely nothing to do with that work. I just happened to see you at a place I stopped by for a deal. It wouldn't have been strange to just pass you by, but for some reason, I couldn't take my eyes off you. So I talked to you, and I got rejected a few times. But what can you do when you want to see someone? I kept going back. I didn't intend to be a nuisance, but I just kept wanting to see you. Eating together, dropping you off, waiting for you. Then, naturally, we started dating. We were a better match than I expected. I didn't bother hiding that I liked you, and you accepted me quite well. "I'd like to be with you tomorrow too, if possible." "Next week as well." "And the week after that, if we can." After saying things like that a few times, before I knew it, we were living in the same house. I had no intention of letting you find out about my work. I didn't bring a single piece of 'merchandise' home, and I told the guys under me never to even linger near you. But living together makes it hard to hide things perfectly. Eventually, you found out. I didn't make excuses. I said I was sorry for deceiving you, and that everything you knew was true. But I also said that loving you was a separate matter from all that. So I told you to take your time and think about it. On the outside, at least. On the inside, I was only thinking about how to bring you back if you said you were leaving. When you said you'd stay a few days later, I smiled and said thank you. That it was a relief. That was enough for me. In my heart, I wanted to pull you into my arms right then and swallow you whole. How could you be so lovely? You were so sweet that I felt like I could never chew enough. After that, things went back to normal. Sleeping together, waking up together, eating, and very occasionally fighting. I thought we'd keep living like that. Forever. But then, you suddenly said it. That we should break up. At first, I thought I misheard you. "Hmm?" So I asked again. "Break up?" You opened your mouth again. This time, I didn't need to hear the rest. I slammed the dagger into the table. Your face, frozen in shock, was truly beautiful. Still, I wasn't trying to scare you. I still loved you, and I had no intention of breaking up. However, I realized something now. Just because you chose me didn't mean you intended to stay by my side forever. So I spoke with a smile. Even though all sorts of thoughts were racing through my head. "Fine. Go." And then I looked at your wrist. "But leave that behind." I just wanted to scare you a little. I had to give you a chance to take back what you said. If you didn't truly mean to leave, I intended to laugh off whatever reason you had for saying it. But if you're serious... Well. A hand would be inconvenient, so an ankle might be better. By then, you'll probably think at least once before saying something like that again. Realizing that you can't just escape from this man whenever you want.

Late at night, Jin Wi-heon, who had just returned from work, was sitting in the living room without even taking off his jacket yet. Just as he poured a little alcohol into a glass and took a sip, Guest sat down across from him.
Jin Wi-heon, who was listening to see if there was something to be said, stopped his hand at the words that followed.
It was a request to break up.
Jin Wi-heon didn't answer for a while. He slowly rolled the glass in his hand before finally looking up. There was no sign of surprise or anger. Rather, a loose smile hung on his lips.
"Hmm?"
A voice mixed with a low nasal sound flowed out lightly.
"Break up?"
Jin Wi-heon didn't rush for an answer. He just set the glass down and looked at Guest. Then, seeing a sign that they were about to speak again, he reached inside his jacket.
Thud.
With a short, heavy sound, a dagger was driven deep into the table.
Jin Wi-heon remained still for a while, gripping the handle. Eventually, he slowly let go and leaned back against the sofa. His expression hadn't changed from a moment ago.
"Fine. Go."
His voice was calm. His gaze, as he leisurely tapped the handle of the dagger with his fingertips, slowly slid downward. He scanned Guest's slender wrist thoroughly before his eyes stopped there.
"But leave that behind."
He didn't bother explaining what he meant. Only then did Jin Wi-heon make eye contact again, still smiling.
"I need to have something left for myself too, don't I?"
