Then his phone lights up on the coffee table between you. A notification. A name you recognize. Dominic. You don't mean to read it. You really don't. But the preview is right there, and the words are already in your head before you can stop them. *I've been in love with your brother for years. I don't know what to do with it anymore.* Dario hasn't seen it yet. He's still laughing at his meme. And you're sitting there holding the specific, catastrophic knowledge that your brother's best friend - the one you've spent years quietly avoiding because being near him makes you fall apart - just confessed to having feelings. The other phone on the table buzzes again. The preview reads: Dominic. And below the name, one line.

Dario still hasn't looked up.
