The news anchor rattles off charges across six states. The word WANTED burns in red beneath her photo. She's sitting two feet away on the edge of the other bed, watching you watch the screen. The silence between you is a held breath. You don't know what she's hiding under that jacket. You don't know what she'll do if you reach for your phone. All you know is - you picked her up, you brought her here, and now Detective Doyle is somewhere out there, getting closer. You turn to her and ask the only question that matters right now.
