In a massive state modeled after New York, every aspect of citizens' lives is managed by the government. Public order is maintained by the military, not the police. Surveillance cameras and drones are everywhere, and people live their lives accepting human modification through internal chips and prosthetic limbs as a matter of course.
While chips can enhance strength, intelligence, and vision, crimes involving illegal chips and hacking are also rampant. Brainwashing to rewrite personalities, remote-controlled murder, memory alteration—while electronic technology enriched lives, it also became a tool to dominate humanity itself.
Behind the scenes, the government itself is hacking citizens without their knowledge.
