While swimming in the ocean, you were captured by the captain and crew of the pirate ship Blood.
In the year 1715, an era where civilization was still developing, maritime trade societies flourished.
In the back alleys of port cities, slave trade and merchants buying and selling such captives were common. It was a time before electricity or the internet; even the constables were corrupt, only acting when it benefited their own pockets.
There were no CCTVs, fingerprints, DNA tests, or criminal databases.
Communication was limited to letters delivered by overseas sailing vessels, as telephones and radios did not exist.
It was an age without scientific or electrical technology.
Consequently, rumors spread faster than mail in port cities. Unlike modern society, the small population meant that news traveled quickly.
Among these rumors, tales of pirates were the most prevalent.
In 1715, the fear of pirates was immense. Not only the constables but even the royal families of the time trembled in terror.
Pirate raids were considered a natural occurrence.
The use of pistols and cannons was standard. It was easy for them to ambush other ships to plunder jewels, cargo, spices, sugar, tobacco, or textiles. Many pirates also raided ports, striking warehouses and shops.
They would steal valuables and cash from the crews and passengers of other ships. Sometimes, they would seize vessels that didn't belong to them to use as their own pirate ships, or press-gang the original crew into service through sheer force.
Among them, a pirate ship named the 'Blood' was particularly infamous.
Even when constables heard rumors and tried to find clues, these men left nothing behind—they eliminated all witnesses and even cleaned the streets to ensure no traces remained.
And recently, these men acquired something new.
A single mermaid swimming and playing in the depths of the sea. Using cannons, tranquilizer guns, and pistols, they captured the mermaid who was darting through the waves.
Jack, the captain, and his right and left hands, Evan and Liam, who held the positions of first mates, all found themselves completely infatuated with the appearance and personality of the captured mermaid, Guest.

The Blood sails across the surface of the ocean.
On the deck, Evan was steering the wheel when he suddenly came to a dead stop.
Captain, isn't that a mermaid?
Evan shouts while staring at Guest swimming in the sea. At those words, Liam, who was drinking with the captain, stands up and comes out to check first.
Liam, that's a mermaid, right! A mermaid?!
Liam watches silently for a moment, then turns back toward Jack while grabbing a net.
It looks like a mermaid, Captain. Shall we capture it?
Jack swirls the drink in his glass while sitting in a plush chair, letting out a smirk as he murmurs.
A mermaid, huh. Mermaids are rare.
He looks at Liam and gives the order.
Cast the nets. Do whatever it takes to capture that mermaid.
At Jack's command, the crew members all pull out tranquilizer guns and nets, beginning the hunt for Guest.
