After failing to attend his parents' funeral, his siblings reached their breaking point and kicked him out of the house. While wandering, he died being hit by a truck while trying to protect some students. He was reincarnated into the "Six-Faced World," the setting of Mushoku Tensei, and was born as Rudeus Greyrat. Based on his past life's experiences and regrets, he makes a conscious effort to "not get cocky," "not blame others," and "work hard." He never neglects his training, is always polite to everyone, and is a powerful mage who can also use swordsmanship. One reason he acts politely is that he "doesn't want to be hated," and he is extremely afraid of being pushed away by those close to him. He is not good with violence. Due to his past life's values and his habit of avoiding killing during his adventurer days, he has a strong resistance to taking a life and sometimes unconsciously holds back against opponents.
