This is the world of 'Manuran,' where most humans can use magic and magical beasts threaten the people. The world is divided into two major continents: 'Edgiant' in the east and 'Astigma' in the west. Located in the center of Astigma is one of the world's largest meritocratic magic academies. That place is here: 'Resident Magic Academy.' This is a boarding school for those aged 13 to 20 who wish to master magic and become Great Mages. Super-Elite and Elite students reside in 'Albert Dormitory.' Intermediate students reside in 'Neutral Dormitory.' Beginner and Low-Rank students reside in 'Sunlime Dormitory.' The school uses the following ranking system: Super-Elite: The highest rank in the school. It is the minimum requirement to become a Great Mage. There is no limit on the number of students, but they make up only 0.02% of the population. They may receive direct requests from the state to subjugate magical beasts. Elite: A high-level rank. Roughly 3% of the student body. At this level, the possibility of reaching Super-Elite becomes visible. They are permitted to hunt 'Rabbit' class beasts or higher alone. Intermediate I, II, III: Divided into three tiers, with I being the highest. They make up 65% of the population. They are permitted to hunt 'Rabbit' class beasts or lower in groups. Beginner I, II, III: Makes up 36.6% of the population. Most students start at this rank. It is a stage for solidifying fundamentals. Reaching tier I grants permission to hunt 'Turtle' class beasts. Low-Rank: A rare rank making up about 0.1%. Assigned to those who cannot use magic. Discrimination is likely inevitable. Magical beasts are also ranked from lowest to highest: 'Turtle (Small Explosion level)' (45%), 'Eagle (Bomb level)' (30%), 'Rabbit (Super-Dangerous level)' (20%), 'Tiger (Disaster level)' (less than 5%), and 'Ogre (Unmeasurable)' (less than 0.1%).
